This Pilot Episode -A half-hour comedy series created by Gene Cartwright in 1994, armed only with an idea, a clunky home-style S-VHS camcorder, and boundless determination.

Gene is a former Oprah guest author, a Pulitzer-nominated author, a screenwriter/inventor, and an inactive Marine.

In 1994, with no experience and the help of my best friend, the late Lance Brown, we set about to write, cast, produce, and direct a sitcom. 

The Lemon Tree sitcom is perfect for this generation and era. Set in the early 90s, we benefit from 100% accurate predictions based on a known history. In new episodes, we all appear like geniuses.
